A SALINAS PAROLEE WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY LAST NIGHT AFTER A WOMAN WAS ROBBED IN WATSONVILLE. POLICE SAY THE WOMAN WAS WALKING HOME FROM WORK ON THE 100 BLOCK OF WEST BEACH STREET JUST BEFORE 9 O’CLOCK, WHEN SHE WAS APPROACHED BY 2 MEN WHO DEMANDED HER PURSE. ONE OF THE SUSPECTS TOOK THE WOMAN’S PURSE BEFORE FLEEING ON FOOT. POLICE WERE IN THE AREA, WHEN THEY SAW 27-YEAR OLD ADAM LEE DELGADO RUNNING AND ACTING SUSPICIOUSLY. HE WAS STOPPED, AND A SHORT TIME LATER POLICE WERE NOTIFIED OF THE ROBBERY BY THE VICTIM, WHO IDENTIFIED DELGADO AS THE SUSPECT. DELGADO, WHO WAS ON PAROLE AFTER SERVING TIME FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER, WAS ARRESTED ON SUSPICION OF STRONG ARMED ROBBERY AND PAROLE VIOLATION. THE OTHER SUSPECT WAS NOT FOUND.
