a watsonville man who was the focus of an investigation into criminal street gangs was arrested yesterday. 23 year-old julio nunez engaged in a foot chase with patrol officers after a probation search was conducted on his home. several weapons and nearly 5 grams of methamphetamine packaged for sale were found the residence, as well as gang clothing and indicia. nunez was arrested for several weapons, narcotics, and gang enhancement charges. he was booked into santa cruz county jail.
