a watsonville man was arrested early sunday morning for allegedly assaulting a woman in salinas. 20 year-old jose valadez is accused of ATTEMPTING to rape a woman while they were in his car parked on an unlit agricultural road. the woman stabbed valadez in his right arm and ran away to safety. valadez was found and arrested shortly afterwards.
