A man who alleges he and his younger brother were molested by a priest on a camping trip more than 35 years ago, now faces a trial for beating up the aged priest. 44-year-old William Lynch faces charges of felony assault after he reportedly entered a retirement home for priests and began beating Reverend Jerold Lindner in front of witnesses. Lynch says that when he was 7, he and his 4-year-old brother were raped by Lindner, while up in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The Lynch’s filed suit against Lindner, who has been accused of abuse by nearly a dozen people, including several family members. Opening statements in the trial began today.
