People and companies facing trouble with the IRS sometimes don’t know where to turn. Lawyers can be expensive and may lack tax experience. But another group, called Enrolled Agents, are specially-trained and authorized by the IRS to represent taxpayers in dealings with the agency.
Bill Oaks of the non-profit group SCORE is both a small business mentor and an enrolled agent. He will be part of a small business tax workshop SCORE will holding on February 12th at the Simpkins Family Swim Center here in Santa Cruz.
