The man that is believed to have taken the Cessna from the Watsonville Municipal Airport June 26th, is 64 year-old Watsonville resident Hugo Mar. The stolen plane is believed to have crashed a few miles off the coast of Santa Cruz. Mar was an active member of a local flying club the plane was leased to. According to the owner of the plane, the pilot made no radio calls at the time of departure, or at any time thereafter.
