More than 97 percent of the burned metal, concrete, ash and contaminated soil from the 2020 wildfires in Santa Cruz and Monterey counties have been removed so far from the properties enrolled in the Consolidated Debris Removal Program. Property owners did not need to pay to participate in this state-managed clean-up and recovery system.
