A man was killed and two others injured in a solo car crash in Prunedale last night. The incident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. on Castroville Boulevard near Manzanita County Park. Officials say an Oxnard man was driving with two passengers when he lost control of his vehicle. The car slid across the roadway before hitting a tree. One passenger, a 26-year-old male from Salinas, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and a second passenger, a 21-year old man from Cloverdale, were transported to the hospital. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The incident is under investigation.
