(Updated at 09:09) – The CHP has released additional information on a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred in Watsonville Sunday afternoon. Shortly before 2:30 p.m., a motorcyclist struck another vehicle on Airport Boulevard. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported. Officials say in the moments leading up to the crash, the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to yield to a CHP officer. The motorcyclist was riding a Suzuki bike that had been reported stolen out of Sunnyvale. The investigation is ongoing. (S.G.)

The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported. The roadway was closed between Loma Prieta Avenue and Freedom Boulevard for close to 7 hours while the CHP performed an investigation. (P.M.D.)
