(Updated at 06:28) – Salinas police have identified a man who was killed in a crash on Saturday. 32-year-old Dean Nielsen of Salinas was riding his motorcycle on Laurel Drive near Highway 101 when he collided with a vehicle. Nielsen was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, 50-year-old Mary Gutierrez, and her passenger were uninjured. Alcohol is not believed to be factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing. (S.G.)
(10:40) SALINAS – A Salinas motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car Saturday afternoon. The fatal accident happened on Laurel Street near the Laurel Inn. The victim is described as a middle aged male his identity is being withheld pending notification of family. The details of the accident remain under investigation. (P.M.D.)
