(Updated at 08:26) – Santa Cruz police are seeking a suspect vehicle in connection with a fatal hit and run that occurred earlier this month. On June 10, 59-year-old Dene Diannthe Shaw was hit by a vehicle on Highway 1 at River Street. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are now working to identify a suspect vehicle. Officials believe the car may be a silver sedan, possibly a Toyota Prius, that likely has a broken windshield and windshield wiper as well as damage to its front bumper. Authorities say that at about 12:45 a.m., patrol units responded to a report of a fatal hit and run collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the area of Highway 1 and River Street. The incident occurred on northbound Highway 1 at River Street shortly after 12:30 a.m. Arriving officers found the 59-year-old victim in the roadway. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
