(Updated at 06:16) – Search and rescue crews have suspended efforts to find two UCSC students who fell off a cliff in Bonny Doon this week. Officials say 5 people were hiking along the cliff around 7 p.m. Monday when they got caught in a landslide. Three of the hikers were rescued by Cal Fire. The other two, a 20-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man, fell into the water. Following a 22-hour long search, the Coast Guard halted search efforts.

Officials say four people were hiking along the cliff around 7 p.m. when they got caught in a landslide. Two of the hikers were rescued by Cal Fire while the other two fell into the water. The Coast Guard deployed a boat and a helicopter and searched for the missing hikers throughout the night. The search is ongoing. (S.G.)
