A section of Highway 1 remains closed due to large cracks on the road. Caltrans reports that the cracks formed at Mud Creek near Big Sur. The fissures have moved three to five feet over the past week.
Caltrans plans to reopen Highway 1 at Mud Creek by 5 PM tomorrow (Friday).
Meanwhile, Caltrans says Highway 1 at Paul’s Slide is expected to reopen by 5 PM today (Thursday).
