Counselors are on-hand today at Salinas High School, for those effected by the death of 14 year-old freshman Alex Martinez. The teen was hit by a vehicle late Thursday night, when he got out of a parked car on San Juan Grade and tried to run across the road. Martinez, who was described as a sweet, genuine person, reportedly spent much of his non-school time hanging-out at Young Life Salinas Valley, which is a Christian-based organization. The driver is cooperating with authorities.
