THE GREATER SANTA CRUZ FEDERATION OF TEACHERS UNION IS ASKING TEACHERS RETURNING TO WORK THIS WEEK TO RESTRICT THEIR DUTIES. THE MOVE IS DUE TO A PAY DISPUTE WITH ADMINISTRATORS OF THE SANTA CRUZ CITY SCHOOLS. THE UNION IS ASKING TEACHERS NOT TO DO ANYTHING BEYOND THEIR SPECIFIED CONTRACT DUTIES; THIS INCLUDES DOING THINGS LIKE TUTORING AND MENTORING STUDENTS DURING BREAKS OR AFTER SCHOOL. THE NEXT MEETING BETWEEN SCHOOL AND UNION OFFICIALS IS SLATED FOR SEPTEMBER 27TH.
