UC Santa Cruz police are warning revelers not to gather for April 20th 4-20 marijuana celebrations on campus. Police say they have seen groups already gathering on campus despite the shelter-in-place order and the potential for $1,000 fines.
For many years, there has been an unsanctioned event on campus to celebrate 420.
Violating the Shelter in Place order is a misdemeanor. Those who violate it can face a citation or arrest, and fines can be up to $1,000.
To report a violation of the public health order and social distancing requirements, call UCSC police at 831-459-2231.
