Schools within the University of California system will no longer consider SAT and ACT scores submitted with applications for admission and scholarship opportunities.
This announcement was made on Friday following a lawsuit settlement between the UC system and a student.
Advocates of this policy state that these tests make it difficult for low-income and minority students to seek opportunities for a higher education.
