A lecturer at UCSC has been nominated for a Documentary Emmy Award. Leo Chiang teaches in the University’s Social Documentation Program. His documentary, “A Village Called Versailles,” was nominated in the category of “Outstanding Continuing Coverage of a News Story—Long Form.” The documentary covers residents of a New Orleans neighborhood, who rebuilt their community, and then had to fight against a planned toxic-landfill. The 32nd Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards will be held in New York City, on September 26th.
