ALTHOUGH A UNIVERSITY COMMITTEE HAS VOTED TO FREEZE THE FALL TUITION FOR UNDERGRADUATES, IF VOTERS REJECT A STATEWIDE NOVEMBER BALLOT MEASURE, THAT WOULD CALL FOR A TEMPORARY INCREASE IN INCOME AND SALES TAXES. IF GOVERNOR BROWN’S INITIATIVE FAILS, THE 10-CAMPUS UNIVERSITY SYSTEM COULD FACE A 20 PERCENT MID-YEAR TUITION HIKE, AS WELL AS THE POSSIBLE REDUCTION OF THE NUMBER OF CLASSES OFFERED.
