Two women have been hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries following a shooting in downtown Santa Cruz last night. Officials say the incident occurred around 8 in the area of Pacific Avenue and Birch Lane. Both victims were transported to the hospital while police blocked off Pacific Avenue at Laurel Street. Police are still searching for the gunman, who has been described as a Latino male, about 5’6”, wearing dark clothing, a black cloth over his face, and gloves.
