The turkey flats fire in south monterey county was fully contained tuesday evening. The flames charred about 27-hundred acres. Most of that territory was scorched on Monday, before the overnight weather allowed firefighters to get the upper hand on the fast-spreading flames. No homes were damaged, and no injuries were reported in the grass fire. more than 350-firefighters helped contain the blaze. The cause is under investigation.
