A vehicle went off of laureles grade road in monterey county on thursday, causing traffic delays in the area of southbank road and carmel valley road. The only occupant of the pick-up truck was the driver; he was climbing up the embankment by the time emergency responders arrived. The vehicle crashed about 150-feet down the hillside, and smashed against a tree, before it caught fire. The driver was taken to a local hospital in stable condition. The cause of the just-before 5 p.m.-wreck is under investigation.
