The trials for two King City police officers accused of embezzlement have been delayed. Mario Mottu and Nick Baldiviez are two of six officers who were arrested in February in connection with an illegal towing scheme. Initially, both were scheduled for trial this month. Christian Scott, who has replaced Richard Rosen as Mottu’s attorney, has asked for more time to prepare. Additionally, Monterey Superior Court Judge Russell Scott is Christian’s father, presenting a conflict of interest. Both defendants will return to court January 28th, following Judge Scott’s retirement.
