The trial has been delayed for a Santa Cruz man accused of killing a woman on Highway 17. In 2011, 32-year-old Eric Weers allegedly drove into oncoming traffic intentionally and killed 48-year-old Ana Luz Barajas of Santa Cruz. Weers has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. The trial was delayed this week to give attorneys time to find a new medical expert. The case has already been delayed several times due to incomplete mental health evaluations. The new trial date has been set for April 20th.
