2-people were killed when a train collided with a truck in Watsonville on Saturday. The southbound Amtrak passenger train was traveling about 50 miles per hour at the time. It slammed into the pick-up at 1:15 p.m., at a crossing on Kirby Road, (near Elkhorn Slough). Nobody on the train was injured, however a male and female in the truck were killed instantly. Their identities have not yet been released.
