(08:00) Santa Cruz – A man was arrested yesterday after he lead officers on a car chase in Santa Cruz. Officers attempted an enforcement stop just after midnight on the 400 block of Capitola Avenue. 39 Year-old Joshua Mitchell, failed to yield to the Officers’ signal to stop and a one minute pursuit ensued. During the pursuit, Mitchell drove into a public parking lot near 426 Capitola Avenue and came to a brief stop. Officers reported that when they exited their patrol vehicle Mitchell accelerated towards them and crashed into their vehicle. Mitchell attempted to flee the scene on foot, but was immediately apprehended following a brief struggle with the officers. He was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail.
