Santa Cruz County Chamber Biz Expo Postponed to a later date (TBD) in 2020

March 10, 2020, Santa Cruz, CA — The Santa Cruz County Chamber’s Executive Committee met this morning to discuss the unfolding issues regarding the COVID-19 / Novel Coronavirus. Tomorrow’s 2020 Santa Cruz County Chamber of Commerce Business Expo will be postponed and moved to later date in 2020.

After receiving updates from Santa Cruz County Public Health officials, as we continuously monitor the COVID-19 / Novel Coronavirus, the situation continues with uncertainty. Casey Beyer, CEO of the Chamber stated: “The best plan of action at this time to ensure the safety and health of our Expo participants is to postpone the March 11 event and move it to a later date. We make this decision based on the escalating concerns from our county public health officials. Our first priority is the health and well-being of our members, our staff and the greater Santa Cruz County community.

We are following all recommended guidelines from Santa Cruz County Public Health Officials who recommend:

Large Gatherings: Cancel or Postpone Events

• Recommend cancelling or postponing large gatherings of about 50 or more, such as biz expo, concerts, sporting events, conventions or large community events.

• Do not attend any events or gatherings if sick.

We are also monitoring the California Department of Public Health, Centers for  Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), in addition to state and local health departments as the virus continues to impact all of us. If you have any questions please contact the Chamber at (831) 457-3713, or email casey.beyer@santacruzchamber.org
