1.6 million dollars in grant money has been awarded for waste tire collection events. Money from Cal-Recycle, a state managed recycling agency, will provide opportunities for people to recycle their old unwanted tires free of charge. It is also hopes that that will keep those tires out of landfills and illegal disposal sites.
