Three people were arrested in Salinas yesterday in connection with an armed robbery. Officials say the incident occurred when two women took a phone from a man in a shopping center on East Alisal Street. The victim chased after them to a waiting car, where a third suspect pointed a gun at him before driving away. A car similar to the suspect vehicle was spotted shortly after 4:30. The car’s driver, Marcelino Quinonez, was taken into custody. A replica gun was found under the driver seat. Officers also arrested two female passengers, a 17-year-old girl and a woman with outstanding warrants. A fourth female passenger was released along with her 18-month-old son.
