Reports of a person with a gun on the campus of a local junior college yesterday turned out to be a “prank”. Officers got to Hartnell College in Salinas around 11 a.m. yesterday, after their dispatch received text messages of the “threat”. Authorities strongly discourage such “pranks” as they take officers away from real calls.
