The Monterey District attorney’s office states no charges will be filed in a fatal police shooting. On Friday an official said that an investigation into March 2014 shooting death of 42 year old Angel Ruiz by three officers outside of a popular Salinas restaurant, found that police had acted reasonably, in using deadly force, after Ruiz had pointed a gun replica at the officers. A toxicology report found potentially lethal amounts of prescription medication along with alcohol in Ruiz’s body at the time of the shooting.
