A tree, that has been hailed for years as the tree that was the inspiration for Doctor Seuss’s book “The Lorax”, has fallen. Although it wasn’t dead, the Monterey Cypress fell in Ellen Browning Scripps Park (in a coastal portion of San Diego, near where Theodor “Dr. Seuss” Geisel lived for many years). Some of the wood from the century-old tree is expected to be salvaged and repurposed. A replacement tree is slated to be planted.
