The Seaside Police Department will be using the department’s supplemental law enforcement and asset forfeiture money to purchase 5 new vehicles. Those vehicles will be 3 Ford Hybrids and 2 Tesla Model Ys. They chose the Model Y in part because of the lower carbon footprint, but also because of the unique induction wheels that are designed for better performance in wet conditions.
The Tesla Model Y is an All-Wheel Drive vehicle.
