A 16-year-old boy was shot in santa cruz on Friday night. At 8 p.m., The victim and a 28-year-old man were shot at near the train trestle on west cliff drive. the 28-year-old was able to escape with only cuts and abrasions, however the 16-year-old was shot in the lower body. His injuries were considered non-life threatening; he was airlifted to an out of county trauma center to be treated. 1-suspect was interviewed nearby, however no arrests had been made as of Sunday night. As many as 5-suspects are believed to have been involved in the shooting, which is being investigated as gang-related.
