A 17-year-old boy was arrested in Watsonville yesterday(th), following an armed standoff. The teenager was wanted on suspicion of burglary. 2-other teens were arrested without incident at the ross avenue apartment complex, but the 3rd suspect ran into a nearby apartment. The residents inside left, and the teen barricaded himself inside with a loaded sawed-off shotgun. The suspect ultimately surrendered , and was arrested. Several other firearms were found in the apartment complex. The incident led to 2-area schools being locked down. Students at Freedom Elementary school and Watsonville community school weren’t allowed to leave until 3 p.m., when the lockdown was lifted.
