A TALLOW SPILL IN WATSONVILLE YESTERDAY MORNING (MON) CAUSED POLICE TO CLOSE PARTS OF MAIN STREET AND FREEDOM BOULEVARD WHILE THE SLIPPERY ROADWAYS WERE MADE SAFE FOR MOTORISTS. THE SPILL HAPPENED ABOUT 7 A-M BUT IT WASN’T REPORTED UNTIL ALMOST 8 A-M ALLOWING THE AFFECTED AREA TO SPREAD, IT TOOK CAL-TRANS AND CITY WORKERS UNTIL ALMOST NOON TO RE-OPEN THE ROADS. THE TALLOW COMPANY IS EXPECTED TO PAY THE COST OF THE CLEAN-UP.
