Board members of salinas valley memorial healthcare system have voted to retain the services of a consultant, to analyze the possibility of merging with another healthcare provider. The board of directors’ vote was unanimous. Cain brothers, a firm based in san Francisco and Chicago, has been chosen to perform the first phase of the analysis, at a price of 75-thousand dollars. That will include research and internal due diligence. Board members are looking to become part of a larger hospital- network, citing declining revenue.
