To go along with a hotline that health care workers have set up at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital, they are working on providing drive-through screenings. The purpose of the drive-through is to keep the high-risk patients in their vehicles….and away from other emergency room (or emergency tent) patients. Testing for Covid-19 is still, limited….which means that if, (and only if) a screening nurse determines a person is a candidate for testing, then that person will be directed to a specific parking area where a nurse will conduct the 2 swab test. 1 swab goes in the nose….while the other goes into the throat. People are likely to receive the results within 2 days.
