Tens of thousands of Sutter Health patients who need a second COVID-19 dose have now received word that their second dose appointments have been canceled.
Sutter Health said a vaccine dose supply shortage means about 40,000 patients with appointments between now and March 9 are being notified that their second dose shot dates need to be rescheduled.
If Sutter does not receive adequate supplies in the coming days, the health care provider said another 50,000 patients are in jeopardy of having their second dose appointments canceled as well.
