Credit Card Fraud Suspects Arrested in Carmel- 1/14/15 14:00 P.S.

Two statewide credit card fraud suspects were arrested Monday. 49-year-old Sarkis Demirchian and 45-year-old Garik Gevorgyan, used two fraudulent credit cards to purchase a $43,000 diamond ring at a Carmel jewelry store. Store employees contacted police once they realized the cards were fraudulent, which led to the arrest of both suspects. 35 different fraudulent credit cards were found on Gevoygyan and an additional 34 were found on Demirchian. Police also recovered $5,000 worth of stolen property that might be related to other commercial burglaries in Carmel, Seaside, and Button Willow California. Anyone with information about these suspects or others that might be involved with this fraudulent credit card scheme is encouraged to contact the Carmel Police Department.
