A 17-year-old suspected gang member had to be arrested twice in watsonville yesterday, before he was booked into juvenile hall. Watsonville police officers were first contacted just after 3 p.m., by a worker at the discount mall (on Rodriguez street). the worker reported that the teen had brandished a knife, and threatened to stab him. He fled the scene, and officers apprehended him shortly after. However juvenile probation officers refused to accept the suspect at juvenile hall, and would not charge him with probation violation. He was released to his family with a notice to appear in court. About 3-hours later, the teen stabbed a man at ramsay park’s skate park. The victim suffered a laceration to his cheek. The suspect was arrested, and this time he was booked into juvenile hall.
