A 26-year-old man pleaded not guilty on Thursday to charges in the deadly shooting of a man in April. Alexis Balderas and a 16-year-old boy were arrested in connection with the shooting in Live Oak in the Santa Cruz area. Bail for Balderas is set at $1 million and a preliminary hearing is set for November. The teen is in juvenile court where a judge will determine whether he will be tried as an adult.
