Santa cruz county supervisors have abandoned a plan to help struggling homeowners in the county. supervisors had sought to introduce legislation that would give more flexibility to homeowners fighting to stave off foreclosure. However, because laws governing such matters are passed at the state and federal level, county supervisors were unable to pass any meaningful proposal. During the course of the months-long effort, California lawmakers passed a law known as “the homeowner’s bill of rights,” which addresses some of the matters supervisors were trying to take up.
