A Sunday morning blaze destroyed a Summit Road home. Neighbors reported a house fully engulfed in flames with fire spreading to the surrounding vegetation, shortly before 4 a.m. Fire crews from Santa Cruz and Santa Clara counties along with Scotts Valley and the Central fire districts, contained the fire to the one bedroom house located between Loma Prieta Avenue and Morrill Road. At this time it is believed the residence was unoccupied at the time of the fire. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
