Volunteers are being sought for a local suicide prevention crisis line. Volunteers will be trained on how to listen to someone who is suicidal, and be supportive of that person staying safe. No prior experience is needed, and volunteer training (to help with the 24-hour, tri-county, suicide prevention crisis line) begins April 14th. In the past 5 years, more than 400 residents in Santa Cruz, San Benito and Monterey counties have killed themselves.
