The Salinas City Council has unanimously passed a Street Racing ordinance. The vote is partly in response to California Highway Patrol stopping dozens of street racers Friday night in Salinas. There is already a state law about street racers……but there is no such law currently on the books in Salinas. The council is expected to discuss the finalized ordinance in the next 2 to 3 weeks, with the hope of making it enforceable in 30 days.
