A statewide alert has been issued by California Highway Patrol for the search of a man who engaged in a shooting. The shooting was between 51-year-old Guadalupe Lopez-Herrera and
Merced County Deputies.
The shootout ended with one deputy hospitalized, although their injuries are described as non-life-threatening.
CHP reports that the suspect, Lopez-Herrera, is armed and dangerous. The suspect was last seen in a 2013 GMC Sierra with California plate “25599H1”.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of this suspect is encouraged to call 9-1-1.
