In state news… lawmakers gave the thumbs up to a 214-billion dollar state spending plan.
Governor Gavin Newsom has 12-days to either sign or veto parts of the budget through line item vetoes. The biggest winner is education with a 101-billion dollars earmarked for k thru 12 public schools.
In the next week legislators will continue to vote on bills to finalize the details of the budget.
