The full State Assembly has approved a bill that could make it easier for non-profit organizations, to care for unaccompanied minors, keeping them out of detention….and helping them obtain special immigrant juvenile status, that allows them to remain in this country legally. The 63-0 bipartisan floor vote coincided with this week’s arrival of caravans of 150 to 200 migrants, mainly from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador, to the U.S. Border.
