A seaside man who tried to rob a monterey drug store yesterday, died hours after being taken into custody. 30-year-old brett Edward vossler was taken to the hospital immediately upon his arrest, however he died at about 5:15 p.m. vossler had allegedly attempted to rob the Ordway drug store, before fleeing and locking himself inside the old monterey café. The 3-hour-long standoff with authorities ended when vossler lost consciousness. his cause of death has not yet been determined. Nobody was injured in the incident besides vossler, who was believed to have inflicted injuries upon himself.
